I got a little crafty at the weekend and made some thank you cards/birth announcements for Reuben. It was a little 'late in the day' as he's 8 weeks old this week, but there is a reason. I'd spent ages editing a photo to make some cards, printed them all out, was about to send them and realised I'd put the wrong birth weight, doh! Baby brain! As we were soon having professional photos taken, I decided I may as well wait.
It seemed logical to print my own photos and make my own cards as I had loads of photo paper and have a reasonably good photo printer. The cheapest I could find online for professionally printed card announcements cost around £25-£30. I was certain I could make my own much cheaper. Tesco sell packs of 10 brightly coloured cards, complete with envelopes, in their kids craft section for just £1.25 a pack. I used picmonkey.com (amazing free photo editing website) to add the text to the photo, then stuck the printed photos to the cards and voilà!
Easy peasy homemade birth announcements/thank you cards. I think they look quite fab with the colourful card border.
