Today was my 30th birthday and it was just perfect.
I started the day by being woken around 6.30am by Bella and Reuben! Ben kindly took them downstairs and dressed them so I could laze around in bed browsing my phone for around one hour – bliss! I then had time to take a shower without a small audience before sitting down to breakfast with my presents!
The boy did good! By boy, I of course mean man, by which I mean my lovely Ben. He really spoilt me! I already received a food processor a couple of months ago as we saw one and I just couldn’t wait! Today he gave me a bunch of ‘birthday coupons. I’m allowed to cash one in for a massage with Ben, a massage with my favourite massage lady at PolkaDot Beauty in Cheltenham, a film and takeaway of my choice, pick some planters and have a day at a beach. Well, I already picked planters yesterday so Ben kindly picked those up for me. Once treated, they’ll be growing my cauliflowers in them! Ben also filled a gift bag with lots of chocolate, including my new favourite dark chocolate! This week is going to be a very naughty week.
My friends and family also spoilt me, knowing me very well! The present choices were really great including vouchers for my favourite shops and restaurant. There was also a gorgeous Accessorize bracelet and some fab Sass and Belle picture frames which will house photos of my Bella and Reuben very soon! I also received some handmade cushions which match the living room colour scheme perfectly.
I used my beach birthday coupon today too. We went to Weston Super Mare and had a great time. We went for my birthday last year, but it was the early stages of my pregnancy with Reuben and I was really nauseous all day. It was great to repeat the day this year and feel 100%. Bella was also great to watch on the beach this year as she built sandcastles and buried her legs in the sand! She had so much more fun this time at age 3 and really protested when it was time to leave! We felt very British and had chips on the pier followed by an ice cream on the seafront! We definitely need to visit a more picturesque beach soon, but Weston is great for children as there is so much to see and do. Me and Bella went on the train on the pier which she was so excited about, nearly yanking my arm off to pull me to it! Sadly she was too scared for a donkey ride on the beach, but maybe next year.
Once home Ben made us fajitas, he let me choose as it’s my birthday, and we enjoyed these on the patio. I had pots and vegetables to sort from yesterday so I spent a bit of time gardening and then writing some blog posts. Perfect!
I have now officially entered my 30s and I’m sure this will be the best decade of my life!
