We Are Tea -  Simplicitea Infuser Review

I was a little gutted recently when my new tea infuser broke.  To be fair it was a cheap thing and it totally crushed/bent when I washed it up.  It was one of those metal spherical things you put in the cup itself and to be honest it wasn’t that great (again probably because it was cheap).  It leaked tea leaves into my drink as it didn’t close properly.  I’d only just started exploring the joy of loose tea leaves and desperately needed a new infuser.

It was by chance that a company called We Are Tea contacted me to review their new Simplicitea infuser!  How lucky, it’s as if they knew!

The Simplicitea infuser is not like any I’ve seen before.  I am new to loose tea, so I don’t know much about all the different contraptions,  but the only ones I knew about are the ones that go in the cup itself.  I can also imagine there’s a teapot of some kind with a filter in the spout so you can just chuck all the loose leaves into the pot itself… does that exist?  If not perhaps I should invent it and patent it?!

Siplicitea is a new way to brew loose tea leaves in a really simple way as the name gives away.  It’s a clever name, don’t you think?  The infuser is like a plastic mug shape and you simply pop a teaspoon of loose tea in, pour boiled water up to the line (there’s a measure line for a standard mug or teapot) and let it brew for 90 seconds, then comes the really clever bit.  When I looked at the picture I questioned how on earth do you get the tea out without the leaves?!  It actually has a filter in the bottom of the cup and you simply place it on top of your mug (or teapot) and the tea pours in.  Amazing!

I had the best home brewed ginger and green tea I’ve ever made with NO bits of tea leaf at all!  It was so quick to make and will be changing the way I drink tea from now on.  There’s something ever so more flavoursome and more enjoyable about drinking a tea made from loose leaves. It was also super quick to clean too.  I thought it might be a bit of a pain as some of these kitchen gadgets can be, but it washed up easily in the washing up bowl after discarding the leaves (our compost will be pleased) and a quick rinse.

If you love tea then you need a Simplicitea.  It’s going to be the new must have kitchen gadget for all tea lovers.  That said, it would also make an excellent gift for any tea lover.  Along with a couple of tubes of their tea, you really can’t go wrong.  The packing is uber cool and very gift like.

They don’t just do green tea.  They do loads.  Pop along to www.wearetea.com to see the full range.
