Style Challenge: Dressing the Man in My Life with Jacamo
Posted on
When Jacamo got in touch and asked me to take on a style challenge — dressing the man in my life for £100 — I couldn’t resist.
I’d never actually styled Ben before. He works at the head office of a large fashion brand, so most of his wardrobe comes from work. Shopping for him from another retailer felt strange at first, but also exciting. And when I discovered how much I could get for £100 from Jacamo, I was properly up for the challenge.
Affordable, quality menswear from Jacamo
Jacamo isn’t just about affordable clothes. They also stock well-known labels like Firetrap, French Connection, and Nike alongside their own great-value range. It’s a place where you can build an entire outfit — from jeans to jackets — without spending a fortune.
What really surprised me was the range of styles available. You can find casual weekend wear, smart-casual office pieces, or relaxed home looks, all in inclusive sizes. And if you’re buying for someone who hates shopping, Jacamo’s easy website layout makes it simple to put together a complete look quickly.
Building the outfit: £100 well spent
With my £100 budget, I managed to get Ben a complete outfit:
-
A pair of black jeans
-
A red flannel shirt
-
A khaki parka-style jacket
-
Casual hi-top trainers
All brand new and all within the budget — which honestly felt like an achievement.
Why I went for something different
Ben lives in blue jeans, so I thought I’d mix things up a little with black denim. Luckily, he loved them — they’ve been worn several times since, so I’m counting that as a win.
The red flannel shirt was an easy pick. It’s soft, warm, and perfect for chilly winter weekends. The texture gives it a cosy feel without being bulky, and the festive colour looks great layered under a jumper or jacket.
For footwear, I went with casual hi-tops. They’re practical for our walks and days out, keeping feet warm and dry through the colder months.
And finally, the parka jacket. It’s lightweight but great for layering — ideal for when you don’t want to feel like the Michelin Man in too many thick layers. I’m imagining it over a long-sleeve tee and a chunky Christmas jumper when we’re out and about during winter.
Comfort, fit and practicality
One thing I immediately noticed about Jacamo clothes is how true to size they are. Everything fit perfectly straight out of the box.
The quality also feels great for the price point. The jeans have a nice stretch without feeling too thin, the flannel shirt has a soft brushed texture that feels cosy rather than stiff, and the hi-tops have held up well even after several wears.
The parka’s lighter weight makes it versatile, and it’s ideal for layering — especially if you’re someone who prefers freedom of movement over heavy coats.
The styling challenge (and reluctant model!)
Convincing Ben to pose for blog photos was the real challenge here.
He’s naturally confident but not used to standing in front of a camera for fashion shots. I promised him he could keep the outfit if he modelled it for the post, which helped!
Even though he felt a little awkward at first, he did brilliantly. The photos came out great — casual, relaxed, and genuine. You can see how the outfit works together, and I think he secretly enjoyed it once he realised he looked good.
Jacamo’s approach to men’s fashion
What I like about Jacamo is how inclusive and realistic it feels. They cater for a wide range of sizes and body types, with clothing designed to be flattering, not fussy.
Their range isn’t just about fashion trends — it’s about clothes men actually want to wear. Whether your partner lives in jeans and trainers or prefers something smarter, there’s plenty to choose from.
Jacamo also frequently runs sales and seasonal offers, which means you can often grab quality menswear for less. So if you’re shopping for gifts or refreshing a wardrobe on a budget, it’s well worth checking out.
Is Jacamo good value for money?
Absolutely.
£100 for a full outfit feels like a real bargain considering the quality and branded items available. The finish, fit and feel all exceeded my expectations, and Ben’s actually worn each piece since the shoot — which says it all really.
It’s also convenient being able to shop everything in one place. No hopping from site to site, no guessing on sizing between brands. Jacamo simplifies the whole process.
My honest Jacamo review
I’d never really paid much attention to Jacamo before this challenge, but now I’m glad I did. It’s made me realise how easy it can be to put together a stylish, practical outfit for men without overspending.
The clothing feels durable, comfortable and versatile — exactly what everyday menswear should be.
If you’re looking for gift ideas, updating your partner’s wardrobe, or even helping someone refresh their look, Jacamo is a great starting point. It’s affordable, the variety is huge, and the quality genuinely impressed both of us.
Final thoughts
I loved this challenge more than I expected to. It’s not often I get to play stylist for Ben, but this was fun and surprisingly rewarding.
For anyone wondering whether Jacamo is worth trying, I’d definitely say yes. It’s an ideal mix of style, comfort and value — and you can pull together an entire outfit for less than the price of one designer piece elsewhere.
So whether you’re treating your other half or just looking for inspiration, take a look at what Jacamo offers. You might be pleasantly surprised by how far your budget goes.
