  1. Look at my lovely personalised peridot bangle

I was very honoured to recently choose an item from the website LuLu Winter for review.  I’d not heard of the website before and was instantly pleased with what I saw.  LuLu Winter is a ‘premium online jewellery boutique’ whose pages are filled to the brim with the most beautiful contemporary collections.

The website is founded by father and daughter duo Peter and Louise Myson whose aim was to ‘stock a unique combination of classic and cutting-edge branded jewellery, offering women everywhere a standout alternative to the standard high-street offering’.  They have certainly exceeded this intention stocking an incredible number of designer brands including Coeur De Lion, Mishca Jewels, Rodgers & Rodgers, Muru, Bulatti and so many more.

Review: Chrysalis Good Fortune Bangle from LuLu Winter

I was particularly taken by the Muru necklaces.  The designs are modern with a quirky twist.  Celebs such as Caroline Flack and Pixie Lott have been spotted wearing their appealing up to date designs.  My favourites just have to be the cherries, anchor, cupcake and purple jade stone pendants.  Beautiful!

Although very tempted, necklace wearing can sometimes prove difficult with a toddler in tow so I opted for a Chrysalis bangle instead.  The Chrysalis jewellery is highly versatile and can be totally personalised to each wearer.  The bangles can be worn alone for a minimal look or stacked high to create a cool layered look.  The bracelets symbolise different spiritual energies making a perfect gift.  I liked the look of their Good Fortune collection and it seemed most appropriate to pick my August birthstone, peridot.

Bangles can usually be rather large on my small wrists, but the Chrysalis collection is sized so I was able to select a small.  Perfect!  The bangle is made from rhodium plated brass so promises to keep its shine.  The bangle has two disc charms.  The first is encrusted with 37 sea green coloured Swarovski crystals to represent the August birthstone peridot.  These crystals really catch the light and sparkle magnificently!  The second charm is engraved with the unique properties of peridot; cheer, life, luck, energy, passion, wonder and karma.  The back of the discs are engraved with the brand name Chrysalis and a teeny butterfly.

The bangle came impressively fast (free first class same day UK dispatch on all orders) and was packaged lovingly in a branded suedette pouch drawstring bag.  The bangle was wrapped carefully in tissue paper inside so it truly felt like opening a gift.  A card was attached by a ribbon outlining the spiritual properties of the represented stone.  A Chrysalis bangle really would make a perfect birthday present!

The bracelet really is as stunning as the website picture.  This extremely charming bangle has been settling incredibly well in its more permanent location; my arm!

Overall I am very impressed with the selection at LuLu Winter, the service, delivery and packaging!  I’ve just noticed they also stock some adorable children’s jewellery so I’ll also be popping back once Bella is a little older!

  2. I'm feeling rather nautical

I was lucky enough to recently be selected to choose a Mr Nutcase phone case to review.  They could really not have timed this better as I had, the day before, upgraded my mobile phone.  Did I want to accessorize my new phone?  Yes please!  Perfect!

I popped on over to the Mr Nutcase website (www.mrnutcase.com) to see what they were all about and to choose my design.  I have an iPhone 5C so picked these designs to browse.  You can also upload a photo, collage or even your own design to have printed on the case!  This is a fantastic idea so you can truly have a personalised unique case just for you!  I did ponder over uploading a photo, but this anchor design really caught my attention. I browsed the website three times throughout the day before making my mind up (just to make sure I was sure) and I still came back to the anchor.  That was that settled then!

The website is easy to use and the checkout process quick and simple.  Exactly what you want from a website nowadays.  No fuss.  Delivery was very impressive – it came the next day!  I wasn’t expecting it so quickly, especially as they print the designs onto the phone cases so would have been happy waiting a few days knowing this, but even better!  Next day delivery is always a bonus especially if it's free too!

As you can only see the graphic design on the website, it was a little hard to imagine what it would look like on the actual case.  There are no pictures of their ready made designs on the phone cases, so you have to just picture this in your head and trust it will look good.  I was slightly worried how it would look on the actual case, but I didn’t need to be.

The phone case looked fantastic!  I chose a leather flip around style which they can currently only print on one side.  This didn’t bother me much as you’re only going to see one side when your phone is on a table.  The navy and white stripe with red anchor print looks excellent in real life!  I was very pleased with my choice.  It’s the perfect summer nautical theme.  Ahoy matey!

The flip over part is magnetic, much more convenient compared to velcro and a popper which I have previously had.  The phone is also inserted into a protective hard plastic case so it feels amazingly secure (much needed with a toddler!).

  3. Hello, this is Me! The Face Behind Lylia Rose

So far I have never posted a picture of my face, well not one that isn’t hiding behind a face mask!  This is quite simply because I really don’t like my face or any photo of it.  So here are some very posed selfies from the best possible angles, though I look a little fish pouted in that first one, ha.

    the real lylia rose

I just wanted you to know I am a real and normal person called Victoria.  I'm 28 and live with my fiancée Ben, 30, and we have a 23 month daughter, Bella.  We are in the process of moving house.  We are just waiting to exchange contracts and it will be my first ever house I have purchased so I'm very excited.  We will also have a garden for the first time in six years so I am extremely excited about this. Just in time for summer too!

I am a full-time day Mum to Bella, work evenings and focus on my Lylia Rose ladies fashion accessories shop in all my spare time.  I retrained last year to become a child minder through a fast track college course approved by the local council.  I also completed a level 3 qualification in childcare and education to enhance my qualifications and knowledge.  Once moved I will start my childcare business preparations (building a playroom & designing the website).  Hopefully all will go well and I will be child minding by the end of the year.  I will of course still run the accessory shop and UK lifestyle blogat Lylia Rose during evenings and weekends!
