Blog Giveaway: Win a Stylish Passport Holder thanks to Destination2 #winitwednesday

I am SO excited – we have booked a holiday!

In 310 days, 17 hours, 16 minutes and 37 seconds we will be venturing off on our first family beach holiday abroad.  I know that because the holiday app tells me so, not because I’m that excited I’m counting down every second, though actually I kind of am!

The last ‘proper’ holiday we went on was a babymoon when Bella was a 6 month old bump.  Over 5 years ago.  That’s actually the only ‘real’ holiday me and Ben have been on together.  It wasn’t overly superb either as I was grumpy, emotional and sick from the pregnancy. We had a nice time, but I could have been much nicer to him.  I think I was just uncomfortable and miserable as I am not one of those natural blooming during the pregnancy type of people, in fact I’m the total opposite.

By proper and real holiday I of course mean a jump on a plane to somewhere hot with a beach and pool and no responsibilities for a week (or longer if you’re lucky).  We went to Cornwall last year and stayed in a house, but it was like being at home.  It rained for five days, we went to Tesco every day, I washed, I cooked, I cleaned every single day.  It didn’t feel like a holiday.  Just a lot of money to technically move our house to a different house for a week.

This holiday will be different.  It’s still almost a year away, but by then I’ll be really ready for it!  It’s a long way away as I needed extra time to pay for it.  That’s because I’ve gone all out and decided to treat us to something we’d never normally look at.  It’s a 5* premier all-inclusive hotel on a beach with pools and it looks AMAZING.

The children will be 5 and 3, which will hopefully be much more manageable ages for four hours of flying.  We do fly to see Ben’s family in Germany 1-2 times a year, but that’s only one hour so it’s been OK with a whingey child!

Feeling inspired by the blog article 5 little luxuries you can only get on holiday by holiday website Destination2, here are the top 10 things I’m looking forward to on our beach holiday:

  1. No cooking
  2. No cleaning
  3. No alarm clocks
  4. Sunshine
  5. Swimming
  6. Beach walks
  7. Great views
  8. Relaxing
  9. Exploring
  10. Making memories
