[Blog Giveaway] Summer Birthday Party Ideas for Kids

Posted on

Planning a summer birthday party for your kids can be a fun and exciting experience. With the right ideas and activities, you can create an event that your kids will never forget. From outdoor games to creative decorations, there are plenty of options to choose from when it comes to planning the perfect summer birthday party for your little ones. With these ideas, you’ll be able to make sure that your kids have a blast on their special day!

I’ve always been really chuffed with the date of my birthday: August 2nd.  It meant I never had to go to school on my birthday!  As an adult I always booked my birthday off work, so I’ve always had a fun birthday day every single year I’ve existed.   The best thing about a summer birthday is usually the weather is great so I often had a garden party with a huge bouncy castle.  My mum loved to host big bashes and fill the garden with as many friends and family as possible.  I think she mostly loved the part where she kicked us kids off the bouncy castle and let the adults have a good ten minutes of bouncing after far too much wine!  The bouncy castle man always said ‘no adults’ when he dropped it off, but he must have known.

We’d either have a BBQ or a table set up in the garden with party food.  If you’re planning a party this year I have a great giveaway at the end of this blog post where you can win some party supplies for your next special occasion!

Summer birthday party ideas:

Bouncy castle party

From previous experience this is the only entertainment you’ll need!  Kids absolutely love bouncy castles and never want to get off!  If you have enough space in your garden then it’s the perfect location, otherwise hire a hall preferably with a patch of grass if it’s going to be a scorcher.

Picnic party

This can be in your garden or a local park.  Lay out some pretty picnic blankets and baskets with special party food.  Decorate the garden with bunting and gingham.

Garden camping party

If your children are a little older they may love the idea of camping in the garden!  Set up a few tents and have an early evening party.  Toast marshmallows around a fire pit and perhaps have a BBQ for the food.

Water fight party

If it’s going to be a super-hot day, if you can predict that in the UK, then a water fun party is ideal.  Have lots of water bombs filled up ready to go, water pistols and paddling pools!  Ask the children to bring their swimming clothes and a towel.  Set up the biggest water fight ever!

Carnival craft party

How about a carnival themed party?  Save boxes and modelling junk, and lay out paints, glitter and glue to let the children create their own magical carnival costumes.  Hire a face painter to really finish their creations off.
