The secret to younger looking skin

Posted on

"I want younger-looking skin!" is a phrase that many of us hear in our lifetime. But what does it mean? Younger-looking skin could mean different things to different people, but one thing is for certain: all of us are looking to find ways to look and feel better. One option you have when trying to achieve the youthful appearance you desire is through cosmetic surgery or non-surgical cosmetic procedures. Cosmetic surgery and cosmetic procedures can be used as an effective treatment for patients who are suffering from various types of aging including wrinkles, lines, age spots, and loose skin on the neck or under the eyes.

Option #1: BOTOX Cosmetic

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a Botulinum Toxin Type A that can be injected into certain muscles to temporarily reduce the appearance of wrinkles. The treatment functions by blocking nerve impulses from the brain, which reduces muscle activity and therefore softens or eliminates wrinkles for up to three months. It takes about 15-20 minutes per session and patients will start seeing results within one week after their injection.

Botox injections are an extremely popular cosmetic surgery procedure in today's society because it works quickly, but only lasts approximately three months before beginning to wear off. This means you don't have to commit yourself fully - just sign on for a few sessions every few months at least until you see some nice results.  And if you’re not happy with it?  Just let it wear off and never have a session again if it’s not right for you.

Botox can cost upwards of £140 for a single site.

Option #2: JUVEDERM Fillers

JUVEDERM® Fillers are used as a dermal filler to reduce wrinkles, lines, and creases. The Juvederm is injected into the skin by a qualified Doctor or Nurse Practitioner with an anesthetic to ensure your comfort during the procedure. These face fillers last between 12-18 months before they need repeated injections which can be performed at intervals of typically every six months up to two years depending on how much filler you require for each session.

You must find someone who has experience injecting these types of fillers because it doesn't just involve inserting them under your wrinkle - there needs to be some skill involved so that the final effect looks natural while still reducing any signs of aging from appearing on your skin.

The costs for this type of cosmetic surgery can vary greatly depending on where you live and who is performing the procedure but typically it ranges between £300 - £800 for a single injection session.

Option #3: RESTYLANE Injectables

RESTYLANE® Injectables is a dermal filler that can be injected into the skin to reduce wrinkles and lines. Restylane's effectiveness lasts for about 18-24 months before needing repeated injections which can be performed at intervals of typically every six months up to two years depending on how much filler you require each session. The cost of this type of cosmetic surgery also varies greatly, but it usually ranges between £300 - £800 per injection session as well.

Option #4: CO2 Laser Treatment

CO₂ Laser Treatment is a treatment that utilizes carbon dioxide to remove wrinkles, lines, and creases. This procedure takes about 30 minutes per session with the amount of time-varying depending on how many areas you are being treated at once. The CO² laser targets specific blood vessels under your skin which cause aging signs like loose or sagging skin by heating these blood vessels until they coagulate and heal themselves - therefore tightening the area around them as well.

“CO2 laser resurfacing treatments are used to get rid of scars, warts, and deep wrinkles. Erbium is used for finer lines and wrinkles, along with other superficial skin concerns. Both types of ablative lasers remove outside layers of the skin. Non-ablative lasers, on the other hand, don't remove any skin layers.” - Healthline

Patients will start seeing results within three days after their initial treatment before it's completely healed but can experience some redness for a few weeks afterward during this healing process.  A fully ablative session can mean you can’t leave the house for ten days.

The cost of CO2 laser treatments can cost £1500 to £3000 per session so it will be a much more expensive option than the injectables but lasts for up to four years before needing another treatment.
