  2. AuCuTee baby soothing sounds machine review

    Posted on

I’m back today with my second review of an AuCuTee sound machine product.  Not long ago I was sent a sleep therapy white noise machine which seemed predominantly aimed at adults, but today I have their soothing sounds machine which is aimed at babies and small children.

Whilst I no longer have a baby, I do have a three year old and six year old.  My six year old daughter, Bella, still soothes herself to sleep with music.  Quite often she is able to fall asleep without aid, but she usually wakes at least once per night and I hear her turn her comforting music on to drift back off again.

I thought this product could be perfect for her, or even my younger son, so was happy to review.

AuCuTee Baby Soothing Sounds Machine Review

I’ve been using the soothing sound machine yesterday and today since it arrived to test it out and gather my thoughts and first impressions.  As I sit here typing this, I have it sat on my desk playing lullabies so I can test out the voice activation feature.

It has many great functions that I’ll share with you here:

  3. Diggerland Devon review

    Posted on

Today (07.07.2018) we were lucky to have a complimentary visit to Diggerland in Devon.  It’s a place I’d somehow never heard of before until I saw a tweet about it just a few weeks ago.  Most people I have told about our visit haven’t heard of it either.  I find that surprising as they have four locations throughout the UK.  As we’re in the south west of England the closest location to us was just over a one and a half hour drive from Gloucestershire to Devon.  To be fair we haven’t yet holidayed in Devon as a family so that could be why we were none the wiser about its existence.  In this blog post I will share my honest review of Diggerland in Devon.

If you’re organising a hen do but don’t want to go overboard with the spending then I have some budget friendly hen party ideas in this blog post for you.  Whilst the dream may be for everyone to fly to Ibiza and stay in a luxury hotel for a week, the bank balance may simply say no.  Plus it’s a lot of money to expect your friends to pay, especially if you want to invite a large group who will no doubt have wildly different salaries and financial situations.  You can still have tons of fun even on a budget and in your home country.

Here are some budget friendly hen party ideas to make your cash stretch a little further:

  5. 5 things I’ve learned having a sacroiliac joint injury

    Posted on

Six weeks ago I twisted my sacroiliac joint and I’m pleased to say it’s finally healed!  It was agony for the first four weeks, but then it really quickly started feeling better in week four.  I got a bit excited and tried to jog, but it felt like the bones were grinding, so I left it another week and I was finally able to run this week, swim and do yoga without being in agony.  It’s exactly six weeks today and it’s totally back to normal.  I wasn’t sure whether the chiropractor or osteopath helped or whether they were right for this injury.  All the information I Googled said it was a 4-6 week injury and it was right.  Perhaps it would have just healed itself and I could have saved my money.  Who knows.

With so much choice on the market, it can be hard to decide on where to take your family on holiday.

If you're looking for some last-minute family holiday getaway ideas, Tenerife is a great place to go. The island offers an amazing range of activities and attractions, from beach resorts to national parks and nature reserves.

Here are five reasons on why Tenerife is a great family-friendly holiday destination.

  7. Staying in the UK for a family holiday: 5 potential destinations

This year we’ve decided to go on a few holidays.  By ‘we’ I actually mean ‘I’.  Me and Ben have only ever been on an abroad holiday once together for a babymoon.  To be fair, I was pretty hormonal and miserable most of the time!  We have been abroad with the kids several times to visit family, but never for an actual holiday.

  8. How to keep a relationship strong after having kids

    Posted on

A relationship can be a beautiful thing. But, over time, it can become a little less beautiful. One of the main reasons for this is kids.  There’s no doubt about it - having kids is going to change the dynamics of a relationship.  No longer can you devote all your time and attention to your other half.  Late nights and broken sleep can affect mood and stress levels, as well as decrease any expected precious evening time together you may have had planned.  Babies and children are unpredictable.

Even with a five year old and two year old, we never know what the day or night will bring.  Illnesses suddenly spring out of nowhere and though they may mostly sleep through the night, we’ll suddenly go through a patch of them refusing to go to bed or waking up with growing pains for nights on end.  Often we plan to spend an evening together with no work or social distractions, once the children are in bed, but by the time they are asleep we’re both practically asleep too or too shattered to interact!

That being said, I feel like our relationship is still strong and perhaps even stronger since having children.  One friend with older children once told me if we can get through the early years of having kids, we can get through anything!

So, how do you make sure your relationship stays strong after having kids?  Here are three things I think help to keep a relationship strong after having a baby.
